Island Wave
This client was very involved with the design process. I worked with him, using CAD drawings and email, to design a new custom shaped net hoop. The client bought the Bubinga wood for the hoop online, as well as the Hawaiian Curly Koa which reminded me of an ocean wave when finished. The hoop is beautiful and hard Bubinga with alternating strips of Curly Maple. The net has a specially requested brass eyelet with a stainless steel split ring per the client's request. I fabricated the eyelet from a 3/3" x 2" brass bolt. The client also wanted a red heart inlaid on the handle. I cut the heart from a piece of brightly crimson colored Bloodwood.
