This is a beautiful custom Curly Koa Net which is an unusual one in that I highlighted a spalted area that had very nice coloring. Natural inclusions were inlaid with black stone in this front area. This net was made from a decades old piece of gorgeous curly Koa that I traded a net for from a retired knife maker(along with some other exotic woods). With today’s regulations and Koa’s scarcity, finding this quality of Koa is getting harder & harder and muych more expensive. The tightness of the curl is exquisite as is its chatoyance. The net is quite light overall as I kept thicknesses to a minimum per the client's request. I inlaid your the customer's private inside the hoop in bronze.
